Capsized

Another monday opens up and blinking I am born again
Another weekend put to bed, of drinking and of hurricane
I don't believe today's the same as any other day that came
And woke us from our heady sleep to throw us screaming in the street

But you and I
Capsized in tides of blankets again tonight
You and I, capsized

The first sunlight of the year is falling through the window now
And all our dreams just disappear, but who believed them anyhow?
And is it such a waste to stay inside and never taste the day
When everything I love's so near and I can feel the sunshine here?

You and I
Capsized in tides of blankets again tonight
You and I, capsized

You are by my side and I lie broken like a battleship
And everytime I break the tide, it's sweetened by your fingertips
If everything I love's so near and sleeping softly by me
Then I can feel the sunshine here, for it will always find me

You and I
Capsized in tides of blankets again tonight
You and I, capsized
